Title: The Clothes Make the Man
Fandom: Speed Grapher
Characters: Tsujido, Niihari, Makeba
Rating: Worksafe
Words: 400~
Teaser: Maybe the straps had been a little much, but it isn’t like he has anyone to impress. At least, not anyone who’ll care what he’s dressed like.

This show, it is eating my brain. And knowing this show, it is doing it while I am fully awake and tied naked to something metal and pointy.

For reference, Tsujido's clothes look like this

Fandom: Speed Grapher
Pairing: Tsujido/Suitengu
Rating: Worksafe
Words: ~700
Warnings: Contains mentions of violence/abuse
Teaser: "I want to know if there’s anything in the world that you desire.”

Speed Grapher is one of the best (and most fucked-up) things I've seen in awhile. Because I doubt many people have seen it, Suitengu is (one of) the villians of the piece, and Tsujido is his right-hand man.

Contains character/backstory spoilers.

Written for [personal profile] mmefrankenstein because she wins.

There's been a thaw 'round these parts! It was over 60 degrees yesterday, and it's supposed to get up to 55 tomorrow. It's a little early, but this is my favorite kind of weather, so I'm not complaining.

What I would like is about a week's worth of sleep, but that probably won't happen anytime soon. I have a bunch of tests coming up, an Study Abroad forms to fill out, along with Katsucon this weekend. [personal profile] mmefrankenstein and I will be selling her art at the alley, and we'll be cosplaying Yuri and Flynn, so come say hi if you're around!

I haven't been producing much in the way of fic lately--inspiration's been sparse, and I've had most of my writing brain taken up by the original story I've been working on. This is my favorite kind of weather to write in.

So my dad and I just spent the last two hours trying to find my sixteen year-old sister in the mall. We misplaced her, and she wouldn't answer her phone, and didn't show up where we were supposed to meet her. All the time we were looking for her I had to stop all these horror story scenarios from going through my head.
What made it worse was that I had spent the day being depressed and moody about my own dumb shit that the last thing I'd said to her was "Fuck you," when she was an ass to me in the afternoon.
When we found her it turned out she had turned her phone off, and just hadn't been listening when we all agreed where we would meet. Which is fairly typical.
Now she's whining about the fact that she had to take out the trash, and a bit of the bag touched her leg.
All is right with the world.

Re-phrasing this: I wish all the attractive men I come into contact with weren't dickheads.

I just beat Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. So awesome, and as wtf as the previous two. I've also been playing Enslaved with my dad and sister--well, more like I've been playing it, and they've been watching and screaming whenever any mechs sneak up on me. It's not very good for my nerves.

I've been reading a book as well, which I hardly ever have the time to do anymore. Amanda Downum is such an incredible writer, and The Bone Palace is turning out to be just as intriguing as The Drowning City. I am a whore for atmoshphere, and her writing is just bursting with it.

Things have been going a lot better in my headspace recently, what with more medication and all of that. The future doesn't look quite as bleak, though I'm still nowhere near being happy with my life. But at least I can write now, and stay relatively calm.

ETA: Spoilers like whoa for AC: Brotherhood in the comments.

So the condoms at my local groccery store are locked up. As in, behind glass, to circumvent the hideous possiblity that someone might buy them and then use them in order to perform sexual acts. Safely. Oh, the humanity.

But that isn't a huge shock--I've seen it before, though not in this state. What really made me want to punch someone in the face was the fact that the pregnancy tests were behind glass. As if the stress of a possible unwanted pregnancy isn't bad enough, someone has gone ahead and made the simple act of getting the tools you need to help yourself as difficult as possible.

I mean, okay, the condom thing I can buy, if you're one of those idiots of the opinion that condoms are what cause people to have sex, and that sex is evil, and therefore, making condoms harder/more embarrassing to get will cut down on the amount of people (or underage people, which is who I imagine this brilliance is intended for) having sex. But pregnancy tests?. Honestly? What other reasons could there be for doing this, besides making the experience as painful as possible? But I suppose our culture can't pass up an opportunity to shame women for having sex, now can we?

I seem to be writing for a lot of western fandoms recently. Who knew.

So I feel like shit on New Years, but I know I'm not the only one. For all of you out there who are by yourselves, or perhaps to the roughly five people who read this journal: thank you. You are awesome.

This year I was very depressed, my sister developed the family disease (read: depression) and one of my extended family members had to be hospitalized for psychiatric reasons. I started going to therapy. I learned that a person I really respect and love thinks I'm pathetic and over-emotional. I have spent most of my life feeling utterly useless, knowing that no one could ever, ever love me.

I was feeling awful an hour ago, cooking dinner for my dad and my sister and listening to music to stop the silence from pressing in on my ears. Without thinking about it, I turned over the iPod my father had given me for Christmas, and saw this inscription for the first time: "I listen, therefore I am."

It's supposed to be a philosophy joke, since I'm a philosophy major, and we both really love Descartes, but it struck me. At least I can say I was here. I listened, I learned, and I talked back. Not only can I think, but I can listen too. And that has to be worth something.

So to everyone out there, every single, solitary individual lurking somewhere in this incredible grid of information where no one ever truly has to be alone: Happy New Year.

I hope, somewhere, you're listening.
freezingrayne: (Amelia Pond)
I can honestly not believe that New Year's Eve is tomorrow. Things seemed to go really fast this year. It's been a rough Fall for me, and recently there's been a lot of family drama 'round these parts, so I'll be glad to see the new year.

I've been playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and omg, my AC obsession, here it is, back again. It's pretty much just more of the AC 2 with some added elements, and it's continuing the story line a whole lot more than I thought it would.

I just went to see Tron in 3D, and it was awesome. Normally I hate 3D--all that shit popping out at you, but this mostly just had depth to the picture. The CGI was really, really good, and everything was incredibly slick. And Olivia Wilde is just absolutely gorgeous.

ETA: Comments contain spoilers for AC: Brotherhood. Read at your own discretion!
